Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Benchmarks (GDEIB) are the standards for organizations around the world. The GDEIB helps organizations determine strategy and measure progress in managing diversity and fostering inclusion. Global DEI Benchmarks Standards help creating more equitable and better functioning of organizations, confronting racism, sexism, and all forms of oppression, cultivate trust, acceptance, physical and psychological safety, lead inclusively, respond with agility, and thrive though disruption, promote wellness and self-care as ingredients for lasting change and contribute to creating a sustainable world.

Pakistan is a signatory of UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. 6 out of 17 SDGs emphasise gender equality, deceent work & economic growth, reduced inequalities, quality education, sustainable industrialisation, accountable and inclusive institutions. SDGs expand the integration of environmental, social, and economic policies and raises the bar on the role that all types and sizes of organisations in various sectors should play in supporting the global sustainable development agenda.

GDEIB authors are Julie O’Mara USA, Alan Richter USA and Nene Molefi South Africa. The Standard was published in year 2012 by The Centre for Global Inclusion USA. HR Metrics introduced GDEIB standards in Pakistan in 2018. It conducts GDEIB awards on annual basis through a merit-based process in which organizations are given the opportunity to disclose their diversity, equity, and inclusion accomplishments with a focus on social and economic impact on relevant stakeholders. Organizations from all sectors take part in it. GDEIB standards contains 15 categories and 5 levels of maturity for each category. There are 275 benchmarks in the GDEIB Standards. To contest for awards, organizations are required to disclose their DEI practices in the light of GDEIB standards and provide evidence, such as policies, case studies, references, videos and photographs,. International jury of Award assesses all submissions and declares winner companies.

Global DEI Awards provide a mechanism to recognize and encourage inclusive organizations which use GDEIB standards to align DEI with organizational sustainability indicators. Diversity Hub is a Centre of expertise within HR Metrics. Its mission is to help organizations become sustainable through inclusive cultural and behavioural change. The Hub reviews emerging global best practices, carries out local research to understand industry needs, produces data driven research reports and designs bespoke solutions to facilitate desired outcomes.

Jury for GDEIB Awards comprised of leading global DEI experts including Moneeza Usman Butt Partner KPMG Taseer Hadi & Co Pakistan, Nene Molefi CEO Mandate Molefi South Africa, Lynda White President Mcleod White and Assoc Canada. Karen Francis PhD. Vice President and Chief Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Officer American Institutes for Research USA, Farrah Qureshi CEO Global Diversity Practice UK, Gamiel Yafai Founder/CEO Diversity Marketplace UK and Howard Ross Co-Founding Partner Udarta Consulting LLC USA. Awards were assessed on merit-based scoring method including Best Practice, Progressive and Proactive

On 20 Dec 2024, Zahid Mubarik, CEO HR Metrics announced result of GDEIB awards. based on the performance assessment of year 2024, three companies were declared as “Most Inclusive Organizations 2025”; including, Jazz, Engro Fertilizers Limited, METRO Pakistan (Pvt) Limited,. Top 10 inclusive companies are HBL, Engro Polymer and Chemicals Limited, Mobilink Bank, Faysal Bank Limited, The Aga Khan University, HBL Microfinance Bank, Nestlé Pakistan Limited, Top 20 inclusive companies are National Bank of Pakistan, Abacus, Standard Chartered Bank Pakistan, Pakistan Tobacco Company, Soneri Bank Limited, AGP Limited, BAT - GBS Pakistan, TPL Corp Limited, Engro Vopak Terminal Limited, Martin Dow Group

Overall companies winning awards in selective categories are Jubilee Life Insurance, K-Electric, Engro Energy Limited, Yunus Textile Mills Limited, Bayer, Novo Nordisk Pakistan (Pvt) Limited, foodpanda Pakistan (Delivery Hero), Jaffer Brothers (Pvt) Limited, Jaffer Business Systems Pvt Ltd, HRSG, HABIBMETRO Bank, Fatima Group, Mari Petroleum, Allied Bank Limited, Mashreq, Telenor Pakistan, JS Bank, Liberty Mills Limited, Pakistan Kuwait Investment Company (Private) Limited, Pakistan Petroleum Limited, Pakistan State Oil, DVAGO Pharmacy & Wellness Experts, Millennium Education Group, Descon Engineering Limited, Kay and Emms (Pvt) Limited.

GDEIB awards will be held at Marriott Karachi on 25 Feb 2025. Leaders of leading winner companies will speak as how their companies are creating social and financial value for their stakeholders, strengthening enterprise sustainability through ESG disclosure and contributing towards greater good of society.
